Last Mountain Lake… A World-Class Prairie Fishery

Part of the historic Qu’Appelle Chain of Lakes, Last Mountain Lake stretches across the heart of Saskatchewan and has earned its reputation as one of North America’s premier freshwater fisheries. Renowned for its vast waters, diverse structure, and rich forage base, the lake consistently produces trophy-class fish that draw anglers from across the continent.

For decades, Last Mountain Lake has been celebrated for its exceptional Walleye fishing, with fish exceeding 17 pounds, true giants by any standard. Add to that Northern Pike reaching an astonishing 50 inches, and it’s easy to see why the lake is regarded as a bucket-list destination for predator anglers.

In recent years, however, another chapter has begun to write itself.

Once overlooked, carp fishing on Last Mountain Lake has exploded as more anglers discover just how special this water truly is.
